A generalist between the layers

I’m Caden, a Computer Science student at the University of Notre Dame. I write about two things that are usually treated separately but shouldn’t be: AI ethics and ML systems & infrastructure.
Ethics questions — who is accountable, what gets evaluated, what users actually consent to — only matter if you understand the systems underneath. And systems work — serving latency, streaming pipelines, inference at scale — only matters if you’ve thought about who it affects when it fails.
That’s the through-line in my projects and my writing: make the technical legible enough to ask the ethical question, and make the ethical question concrete enough to change how you build.

Serving, streaming pipelines, and the engineering that keeps models reliable under real traffic.
Beyond the code
Friends, good food, and debugging sessions that run long. Most of my best ideas show up somewhere between a lab whiteboard and a late dinner with people who push me to explain things clearly.
